The Great Dairy-Free Challenge Continues
So as you may know I’m trying to go a whole month without eating any dairy products. Now this is pretty hard because not only do I love cheese but dairy is used in so many things you wouldn’t think of unless you read labels while shopping (which you should do. Know what you’re eating!) I’m cutting out dairy for 2 reasons. 1. I may be allergic…it makes me feel sick...

Christmas Dinner!
Grant’s parents came to visit us this Christmas and I got to cook dinner. So as usual I decided to go ALL OUT! So we started with a cheese plate. Smoked Gouda, German Butterkase, Balsamic Vinegar Aged BellaVitano, and Saint Andre Double Cream. The Main Course! Turkey roulade with apple sage stuffing, Châteaubriand steak with rosemary crust, horseradish and blue cheese sauce, herbs...

Thanksgiving Done Our Way
Grant and I celebrated Thanksgiving a little differently this year. We brined a turkey breast for 2 days in salt, brown sugar, pepper corns, clove, bay leaves, rosemary, star anise, cinnamon sticks, and sage. I used the turkey to make a roulade and stuffed it with homemade apple and sage stuffing. The whole breast was trussed and wrapped in the turkey skin. It was slow roasted for a few hours...

Soft Frosted Sugar Cookies
Tonight I made some delightful cookies to share with some of the people i love. I used this recipe—- http://annies-eats.net/2011/07/18/soft-frosted-sugar-cookies/ I colored some of the icing teal and then made a few with chocolate ganache. They were delicious!

Spicy Thai Peanut Chicken Pizza
Last night we made the most awesome pizza I’ve ever had! Grant is famous for his spicy thai peanut satay sauce. Normally we serve the sauce on chicken with coconut rice or just over pasta. But we’ve been talking about how neat it might be to turn it into a pizza. (Because every yummy food has the potential to be a very yummy pizza) The sauce is a mixture of peanut butter, honey,...
